Re-entry rules at multi day festivals often differ meaningfully from those at single day events, since many attendees genuinely need to leave and return across several consecutive days for camping, transport or simply a needed break from the site without losing their existing wristband and its full validity for the rest of the event.
Damaging a wristband, whether accidentally or through simple wear across several genuinely long days, can create real problems at re-entry if the damage is severe enough that staff can no longer verify it properly against the original booking record held in the festival's own system.
Most festivals have a clear, established process for replacing a damaged wristband, usually requiring proof of purchase or original identification matched against the booking. Knowing this process in advance, rather than discovering it under pressure at the gate, considerably reduces stress if a wristband does become damaged during the event. Carrying proof of purchase along, just in case, is a small precaution that costs nothing and occasionally saves a great deal of hassle.
