Packing a festival day bag that works
Launch library · evergreen read

A good festival bag is built around weight, not wishes. Every item earns its place by solving a real problem: sun cream against burn, a light rain jacket against a sudden change, a portable charger against a dead phone at the exact moment you need to find your friends again in a crowded field. Nothing goes in simply because it might be nice to have.
Comfort matters as much as function. A bag that sits flat against your back, with straps that do not dig in after ten hours of standing and walking, will change how the whole day feels far more than any single item inside it. Pockets that let you find things quickly, without digging around blindly, are worth more in practice than extra carrying capacity ever is.
Resist the urge to pack for every possible scenario the day could throw at you. A bag stuffed with unlikely extras becomes a genuine burden by mid afternoon, when your shoulders are the ones paying for that earlier caution. Pack for the day you are actually likely to have, refill water when you reasonably can, and treat a light bag as part of enjoying the music rather than a separate afterthought to manage.
